Lipid Sciences has prepared two animations that depict the delipidation process and discuss the implications of this technology for its HDL Therapy and Viral Immunotherapy platforms. To learn more about these platforms please click on a link below or scroll down to the appropriate section. HDL Therapy | Viral Immunotherapy Lipid Sciences' HDL Therapy could one day result in a dramatic reduction in cardiovascular, coronary or peripheral vascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. This platform uses delipidation technology to actually remove lipids from lipoproteins such as HDL in the bloodstream and then return the delipidated HDL particles to the body. These delipidated HDL particles pick up excess lipids from the artery walls and transport them to the liver. The lipids are then processed and excreted naturally from the body. Lipid Sciences has prepared an animation that illustrates the concepts behind its HDL Therapy process. The video is available in Quicktime and Windows Media formats. There are two sizes available: a larger one for those with Broadband connections (Cable, DSL, T1+) and a smaller one for those with slower connections (ISDN, 56K). Simply choose a media type and click on the link for the video you wish to watch. Quicktime Movies The HDL Therapy Process (Broadband: 5.6MB) The HDL Therapy Process (56K: 2.8MB) Windows Media Player Files The HDL Therapy Process (Broadband: 11.5MB) The HDL Therapy Process (56K: 1.8MB) Lipid Sciences' Viral Immunotherapy is focused on the removal of lipid coatings from viruses and other lipid-containing infectious agents by application of its delipidation technology. It is believed that removing the agent's protective lipid coating will expose new or additional viral proteins to stimulate the body's immune system and elicit an enhanced therapeutic immune response to the infectious agent. Lipid Sciences has prepared an animation that illustrates the concepts behind the Viral Immunotherapy process, using HIV as an example. The video is available in Quicktime and Windows Media formats.
